About The Position

Kendal at Lexington is seeking adaptable, compassionate, and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join their care team as Float Nurses. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in both Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living settings, building meaningful relationships while helping ensure continuity of care throughout the community. Kendal maintains an above-industry standard staff-to-resident ratio, allowing nurses to focus on quality care and resident well-being. This position offers competitive pay based on experience, starting at $33.42+/hour, with a flexible schedule based on operational needs and shift differentials available. Hiring multiple LPNs.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to work across multiple care settings and adapt to changing assignments
  • Commitment to providing exceptional resident-centered care

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or restorative nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Float between Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living neighborhoods based on resident care and staffing needs
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
  • Monitor residents' conditions and communicate changes to physicians, supervisors, and care team members
  • Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and MDS-related documentation as assigned
  • Perform direct resident care, including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, and feeding assistance
  • Provide restorative nursing support to help residents maintain or improve functional abilities
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, infection prevention activities, and quality assurance initiatives
  • Support residents and families through compassionate communication and resident-centered care
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and changing resident care needs
