About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse II utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a person licensed by a state regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The nurse maintains professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients, coordinates patient care with other departments, and protects patient rights and the confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered.
Obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the state where nursing duties are performed and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

One or more certifications may be required based on the position or unit, or may need to be acquired within the department’s required timeframe: ACLS/ALS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E. Six Assessment & Care Modules, BLS, LPN-IV Certification, or other unit-specific certifications.
BLS certification or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
For LPNs in the state of practice, previously completed LPN-IV Certification or successful completion of the course within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care using the nursing process under appropriate licensed supervision or the direction of an RN.
Maintain professional accountability for patient care provided to assigned patients.
Coordinate patient care with other departments.
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
