Licensed Practical Nurse I-III
About The Position
This is the entry level of practical nursing care. Positions report to a technical supervisor. The Department of State (DOS) seeks to increase the number of applicants for clinical nursing positions by offering a recruitment incentive to eligible candidates. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DOS. You must be a new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive. Referral bonuses are available to current DOS employees who refer new hires to the state. This program is administered by the Department of State (DOS) and may be terminated by the State at any time.
Requirements
- Possession of a Delaware Practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.
- At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse (for LPN II).
- At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse (for LPN III).
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be a new employee to the State of Delaware to be eligible for recruitment and referral incentives.
Responsibilities
- Administers treatments as directed.
- Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
- Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
- Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
- Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
- Records information on patients' charts.
