This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse - Float (LPN) located in Manhattan, NY, covering multiple locations including Central Park, Kips Bay, Upper East Side, Yorkville, and Washington Heights. The work schedule is 4/10 hour days, Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a rotating day off on Tuesday.

Requirements

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
• Experience with EMR’s
• Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
• Prepare and administer Injections
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
• Perform point of care lab testing
• Perform EKGs
• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
• Must be willing and able to float throughout our Staten Island and Brooklyn Locations
