This role functions as a member of the GI team, assisting physicians with procedures, decontaminating equipment, and preparing procedure rooms. The position requires understanding procedures, patient positioning, and decontamination standards, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Requirements

Technical School Diploma from a licensed practical nurse (LPN) program.
3 years of experience in a Physician office practice setting.
Ability to accept and adapt to change and recognizes differences among people.
Demonstrates competency utilizing various technologies, equipment, and supplies to safely provide patient care.
Demonstrates initiative and ability to function independently as well as collaboratively.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to care for patients, utilizing a developmental perspective.
Excellent computer skills, EMR, word processing and Excel.
Knowledge of endoscopy equipment and how to perform decontamination procedures.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of decontamination of GI scopes and equipment.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.
LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

Assists with GI and pulmonary procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, and bronchoscopies.
Completes vital signs on patients and checks for height, weight, head circumference, growth charts, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and pain screening.
Functions as a member of the care delivery team to assist the provider and nurse.
Identifies actual or potential patient risks and communicates those risks to the licensed nurse or provider.
Performs clerical and front end functions to support patient care delivery.
Maintains current knowledge of insurance, managed care plans, and medical authorization requirements.
Problem solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in care and handling of equipment.
Decontaminates all equipment.
Prepares procedure rooms for procedures.
