About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Emergency Room department at Ascension St. Francis Hospital. The position is part-time with an evening shift. The nurse will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications, monitoring patient responses, performing laboratory tests and therapeutic services, and educating patients and their families on treatment plans and self-care.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop a clear picture of patient health and ensure their continuous well-being.
• Safely administer medications and monitor patient responses to ensure treatments are effective and complications are caught early.
• Perform essential laboratory tests and therapeutic services that provide the data needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Educate patients and their loved ones on treatment plans and holistic self-care to ensure a confident, successful transition back home.
