About The Position

Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. At Appalachian Community Services, we are looking for compassionate and skilled Part-time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team. As a BHUC LPN, you will provide essential crisis care, assist individuals through critical moments, and deliver client-centered, solution-focused nursing support. If you’re ready to make a difference in behavioral health crisis care, we’re ready for you! Part-Time Positions: Day & Night Shift. As a BHUC LPN, you will: Conduct telephonic screenings to assess appropriateness for admission. Perform nursing screenings upon arrival, including pregnancy tests, urine drug screens, and breathalyzers. Collaborate with prescribers to review clinical information and determine medication needs or alternative care options. Prepare, administer, and monitor prescribed medications. Provide ongoing medical oversight throughout an individual’s stay. This description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role. Requirements

  • Graduated from an Approved Nursing Program
  • Active LPN Licensure through the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
