About The Position

This posting is for a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Merakey's Behavioral Health Urgent Care in Philadelphia, PA. The center serves adults experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, and/or substance use concerns, providing same-day care that is not an emergency. Services include triage, resolution-focused services, and aftercare planning to connect individuals with long-term recovery and ongoing care. The goal is to reduce avoidable visits to crisis centers and emergency rooms by providing timely care. The LPN supports clinical operations, providing medical and nursing care under the supervision of CRNPs and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary BHUCC team. Responsibilities include conducting medical screenings, performing biometric assessments, drawing blood for labs, administering medications, coordinating prescription authorizations, and participating in care coordination.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program is required.
  • Current state LPN license and registration is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health, urgent care, or a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with medical screenings, biometric assessments, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Ability to administer medications, draw blood for labs, and manage medication-related tasks, under the direction of a CRNP or prescriber.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals and colleagues effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle crises calmly and efficiently.
