About The Position

The Licensed Physical Therapist provides and executes a Physical Therapy plan of care for patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited school or University OR Master's in Physical Therapy from an accredited school or University.
  • 3 plus years of experience working as a Physical Therapist.
  • Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments to identify functional limitations, establish treatment goals, and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals, clinical findings, patient needs, and evidence-based practice standards.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation of patient care, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and associated charges.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, home exercise programs, safety precautions, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, safety, infection prevention, and documentation standards applicable to the practice of physical therapy.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement activities, and departmental projects designed to enhance patient care and operational effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership and direction for Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff and Physical Therapy students.
  • Participates in professional development and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure laws and hospital policies.
  • Participates in departmental operational planning and goals action item meetings.
