About The Position

Western Hills Health Care Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). This role is crucial in implementing physical therapy treatment plans and ensuring patients receive appropriate care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The PTA will work within a team environment, charting appropriately, utilizing therapy software accurately, and exhibiting excellent customer service. The position requires the ability to perform various physical movements and maintain concentration and good judgment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT).
Currently registered/licensed in applicable State.
Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail.
Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility.
Able to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
Proficient in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

Provides direct rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
Follows physical therapy treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising PT.
Charts appropriately and timely.
Utilizes therapy software appropriately and accurately.
Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
Assists in the evacuation of patients.
Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance.
Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment.
Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate.
Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs.
Demonstrates good body mechanics at all times.
Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
