Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
About The Position
HealthPro Heritage is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant in Terre Haute, Indiana, to work in a spacious, highly rated assisted living facility. The position offers 30 or more hours per week and pays $33–$37 per hour. The facility has a large treatment area and a community willing to participate in therapy. The PTA assists with implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists and provides direct patient care. The role includes monitoring and documenting patient progress, communicating observations to the Physical Therapist, educating patients and families, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals and support staff. HealthPro Heritage describes itself as a therapist-led organization providing clinical services across settings such as nursing facilities, retirement communities, hospitals, home care, schools, and clinics.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications.
- Monitor and document patient progress and report observations to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient treatments, progress, and responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate patient care and treatment outcomes with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff.
