About The Position

SpecialtyRx is hiring a detail-oriented Licensed Pharmacist for its long-term care pharmacy team, providing pharmaceutical care to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The pharmacist evaluates medication orders, ensures medicines are prepared and dispensed appropriately, communicates with healthcare teams, and helps resolve medication-related questions. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts from 1:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., including every other weekend.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
• Ability to multitask and be reliable.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to physically perform light lifting.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous long-term care experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Frameworks LTC system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for the appropriateness of the drug and dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members about medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and client facility staff when necessary.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Maintain customer databases, including medical history, clinical data, and laboratory data.
