About The Position

Licensed Personal Bankers are responsible for providing excellent customer service, identifying sales opportunities, and performing account transactions. They play a key role in executing the bank's consumer-based and business relationship building efforts within a full-service banking center. The role focuses on daily sales initiatives, proactive customer interaction, and service, including meeting with customers to discuss their banking needs in person and via phone. Significant time is also dedicated to outbound calls for customer onboarding, prospecting for new Retail and WesBanco Securities, Inc. customers, and cross-selling existing retail banking relationships. The Licensed Personal Banker will also assist the Banking Center Manager with targeted outside sales activities and community engagement. Operationally, they must comply with all bank policies, procedures, and security measures, and may act as a teller, assist in supervision, or provide other necessary support for sales and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook 365.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn various Banking Software programs.
  • Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required.
  • Life and Health insurance license required.
  • Banking, Investments, cash handling, sales, and customer service experience preferred.
  • Supervisory or leadership skills desired.
  • Sound mathematical and analytical skills preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively interact and build positive customer relationships.
  • Must be able to clearly express concepts, ideas, and product information verbally and in writing.
  • Must have strong product knowledge for the level of selling and cross-selling performance expected with position.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible.

  • Executes consistent, outbound calling activities using customer lists, cross-selling, and making appropriate business line referrals.
  • Sets priorities and follows through on the implementation of defined sales and service activities.
  • Promotes company products and services in the community.
  • Supports proper functioning of day-to-day operations including customer service, opening and closing procedures, vault duties, cash level control, inventory supply, and audit/compliance requirements.
  • Actively participates in regular sales and staff meetings.
  • Provides service to customers and prospective customers on banking and WesBanco Securities, Inc. matters, explaining products and resolving issues.
  • Builds successful working relationships with internal business partners.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making by following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains prescribed security controls to protect against criminal and fraudulent operations.
  • Keeps all sensitive information and customer business confidential and secured.
  • Contributes in a team environment to service customer needs by answering incoming telephone calls and performing additional duties, including processing teller transactions as needed.
