About The Position

Provide evaluation, treatment planning, and individual sessions based on clinical evaluations of targeted populations. This role requires a deep understanding of psychotherapy principles and techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. The therapist must be knowledgeable about current research, treatments, and approaches to mental health treatment, and be able to conduct thorough assessments and diagnose mental health needs. They should be skilled in delivering evidence-based interventions and possess strong cultural competency, communication, and collaboration skills. Adherence to ethical guidelines, maintaining confidentiality, and professionalism are paramount.

Requirements

  • Meet the criteria for being a Mental health Professional according to § 5200.3 of the PA code.
  • Trained in a generally recognized clinical discipline including psychiatry, social work, psychology or nursing or rehabilitation or activity therapies. If the clinical discipline is not one of the above, then documentation proving the clinical nature of the degree is required.
  • Current licensure in this Commonwealth in a generally recognized mental health discipline.
  • Mental health clinical experience
  • Original clearances with no convictions that would prohibit hire under the Child Protective Services Law.
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • State Police criminal background check
  • Federal criminal history background check
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment: A deep understanding of mental health disorders and their symptoms, as well as evidence-based treatment modalities for each condition. Familiarity with medications commonly used to treat mental health disorders.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well versed in HIPAA
  • Strong self-care practices and stress management skills to prevent burnout and maintain their own mental health.

  • Assessment and diagnosis: Ability to conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and diagnose any disorders that may be present. Ability to analyze and interpret data to develop an accurate diagnosis.
  • Counseling and therapy: Ability to provide effective counseling and therapy to individuals, families, and groups. Skilled in delivering evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
  • Cultural competency: Strong understanding of cultural differences and how these impact clients' mental health. Ability to provide culturally sensitive care and work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication and collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other therapists. Ability to effectively communicate treatment plans and progress to clients and other members of the treatment team.
  • Professionalism and ethics: Adherence to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality with clients. High degree of professionalism and integrity in their work, including maintaining appropriate boundaries with clients and avoiding any dual relationships that may compromise the therapeutic relationship.

  • Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
  • Meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress
  • Involve and advise family members when appropriate
  • Referring clients to specialists if necessary
  • Contact rehabilitation centers or human service agencies
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Consult with Clinical Director on cases which outstretch areas of own clinical competence
  • Consult with Compliance Director on issues of compliance
  • Help with clinical activities
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
