About The Position

The Vermont Veterans' Home is seeking Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) to join a compassionate team dedicated to providing best-in-class care to Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents. The environment is professional and fun, encouraging staff to thrive and grow while giving back to Nation's Heroes. Staff provide person-centered, trauma-informed care to residents with a wide range of physical and psychiatric disorders. This is a Limited Service position, authorized through 12/31/2027, and is non-tenured. It involves patient care and treatment work at the aide level in a long-term care setting, performed under the direction of a Licensed Practical Nurse and/or Registered Nurse. In-service training courses are required, and staff are encouraged to pursue continuing education. Starting pay may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA).
  • Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required is considered an essential function of this job class.
  • Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Any person who has had a charge of abuse, neglect or exploitation substantiated against them is not eligible under the Vermont Veterans’ Home licensing requirements.
  • Must pass a fingerprint supported background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Must pass Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, Office of Inspector General exclusion database checks, motor vehicle driving record checks, and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position.
