Westminster Suncoast, a beautiful active living retirement community located in St. Petersburg, is currently seeking a full-time nurse for the 11pm-7am shift. Requirements
- Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN)
- Full-time availability for the 11pm-7am shift
- Knowledge of Florida background screening requirements
- Ability to administer medication, IVs, and shots
- Proficiency in updating patient records
- Skills in providing emotional support and patient education
- Capability in performing basic diagnostics and other patient procedures
- Ability to receive and transcribe physician orders
- Competence in monitoring vital signs (blood glucose, temperature, blood pressure)
- Ability to respond to emergencies
- Skills in scheduling appointments and coordinating transportation
- Ability to schedule labs and transcribe lab results
- Experience supervising CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.
- Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
- Assist in planning resident care by following physician orders.
- Implement resident care based on physician orders.
- Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
- Administer medication, IVs, give shots, update patient records, provide emotional support, patient education, basic diagnostics, and other patient procedures for residents.
- Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
- Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure when necessary.
- Respond to all emergencies.
- Schedule doctor’s appointments and coordinate transportation for the residents.
- Schedule labs and transcribe lab results.
- Supervise CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse – ensure they are providing resident care based on physician orders and defined care plans.
