About The Position

Westminster Suncoast, a beautiful active living retirement community located in St. Petersburg, is currently seeking a full-time nurse for the 11pm-7am shift. Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN)
  • Full-time availability for the 11pm-7am shift
  • Knowledge of Florida background screening requirements
  • Ability to administer medication, IVs, and shots
  • Proficiency in updating patient records
  • Skills in providing emotional support and patient education
  • Capability in performing basic diagnostics and other patient procedures
  • Ability to receive and transcribe physician orders
  • Competence in monitoring vital signs (blood glucose, temperature, blood pressure)
  • Ability to respond to emergencies
  • Skills in scheduling appointments and coordinating transportation
  • Ability to schedule labs and transcribe lab results
  • Experience supervising CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.
  • Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
  • Assist in planning resident care by following physician orders.
  • Implement resident care based on physician orders.
  • Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
  • Administer medication, IVs, give shots, update patient records, provide emotional support, patient education, basic diagnostics, and other patient procedures for residents.
  • Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
  • Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure when necessary.
  • Respond to all emergencies.
  • Schedule doctor’s appointments and coordinate transportation for the residents.
  • Schedule labs and transcribe lab results.
  • Supervise CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse – ensure they are providing resident care based on physician orders and defined care plans.
