About The Position

Under supervision, this role provides behavioral health screening of detainees, individual and/or group psychoeducation, and skills-based interventions. The professional will assist custody and medical staff in monitoring behavioral health, coordinate management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns, and monitor therapeutic support for segregated and isolated detainees. This position also supports county behavioral health services for at-risk detainees and coordinates for continuity of care and discharge planning. Documentation and record maintenance for referral tracking and CQI are essential. The role requires demonstrating commitment to behavioral health support, providing training, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, etc.) required.
  • Current licensure with clinical specialty from the appropriate state licensing board preferred.
  • CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained while in this role.
  • Must be able to practice independently.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified through prescreening.
  • Provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
  • Assist custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
  • Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
  • Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
  • Support and supplement the activities of county behavioral health services in the stabilization of at-risk detainees.
  • Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning/case management.
  • Complete documentation and maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
  • Provide training to solve problems and make lives easier.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
