About The Position

Provides individual, family, and group counseling services to patients to address various mental health and wellness-related issues. Conducts assessments and helps patients to problem-solve areas of need. Helps to develop coping strategies and action-based goals and objectives for patients. May specialize in a particular area of counseling. Provide comprehensive mental health counseling services to patients of the TTUHSC School of Nursing Combest Abilene Community Health Center (ACHC) as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Conduct psychosocial assessments, evaluate mental health status, develop diagnoses, and formulate individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings. Deliver evidence-based behavioral health interventions and counseling services for patients referred by primary care providers. Provide individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, and health promotion activities that support patient wellness and self-management. Educate patients on behavioral health conditions, treatment options, community resources, and strategies to improve overall health outcomes. Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate the delivery of behavioral health services to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, and the Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) team to develop and implement integrated care plans. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with institutional, departmental, and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable licensing board regulations, TTUHSC policies, departmental procedures, and professional standards while meeting established productivity expectations. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity when serving diverse populations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate (LPC - A)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) must be working towards LCSW
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate (LMFT-A)
  • Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA)
