About The Position

We are hiring an Iowa-licensed Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide counseling to clients through telehealth. The counselor will work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship problems, and other concerns affecting everyday life. The role includes regular counseling sessions, intake work, documentation, and follow-up with clients when needed.

Requirements

• Active LMHC license in Iowa.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of clinical counseling experience.
• Strong experience with telehealth or willingness to work fully remote.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy approaches.
• Comfortable using EHR systems and virtual platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling through telehealth.
• Complete intake sessions and review client history.
• Talk with clients about the concerns bringing them to therapy.
• Help clients work through emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Keep session notes and client records up to date.
• Follow up on concerns that need additional attention.
• Respond appropriately to safety or crisis concerns.
• Make referrals when other services are needed.
• Follow Iowa LMHC licensing and professional requirements.
