About The Position

This role provides telehealth counseling to Iowa clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, and other issues affecting everyday life. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor conducts counseling sessions, helps clients understand their experiences and identify therapy goals, and adjusts the direction of therapy as needs change. The role also involves maintaining case documentation and responding appropriately to escalating concerns.

The position is full-time and remote, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The stated salary is $115,000–$120,000 per year, with full benefits.

Requirements

• Active Iowa LMHC license in good standing.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience providing therapy or counseling services.
• Strong understanding of assessments, treatment planning, and documentation.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients for scheduled counseling sessions by video.
• Review clients’ current concerns, background, and relevant clinical history.
• Help clients identify areas they want to work on in therapy.
• Provide counseling for emotional, behavioral, and situational concerns.
• Keep session notes and other required records current.
• Revisit the direction of therapy when a client’s needs change.
• Identify risk concerns and follow established safety procedures.
• Follow Iowa licensing, confidentiality, and professional requirements.
