About The Position

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), a leader in Correctional Health Care, is seeking a Licensed Master's Level Behavioral Health Professional for a PRN position at Chesapeake Correctional Center. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on individuals in need, working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team that includes Medical, Psychiatry, Ancillary, Security, Legal, community providers, and psychiatric hospitals. The position emphasizes a proactive and collaborative approach to serving patients within a correctional environment.

Requirements

Must be a Licensed, Master’s Level Behavioral Health Clinician in the state of Virginia.
Must hold one of the following licenses: CMHC, LCPC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, ACMHC, ALMFT, CSW or equivalent.
Graduation from a Master’s level program in a behavioral health related field.
Minimum of one year employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent.
Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.

Ability to make independent clinical decisions, while utilizing assistance and supervisory intervention, as needed.

Responsibilities

Co-lead group therapy, one-on-one therapy, and crisis therapy.
Provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and on-going evaluations, and provide consultation to in-house and community services.
Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with the medical team to determine overall treatment for each individual.
Perform risk assessment of inmates.
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections.
Conduct discharge planning.
Assist in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
Prepare necessary documentation, records, and reports.
Utilize clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, and brief clinical interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Maintain excellent and timely documentation.
