About The Position
Performs massage therapy. Prepares environment by changing linens, selecting music, temperature, lighting, and adjunct devices. Maintains clean and neat work area. Documents massage sessions appropriately. Availability: Weekdays and some Saturdays.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved school of massage therapy.
- Current Louisiana State Massage License in good standing from the State of Louisiana Massage Therapy Board is required.
- Experience with mature adults is required.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing massage therapist preferred.
- Excellent guest relation skills
- Professional affiliation in massage therapy is preferred (AMTA, IMA, ABMP).
- National certification by NCTMB (in good standing), preferred.
- Specialty certification in one or more aspects of massage preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform effective massage therapy and document each session.
- Prepare massage environment to meet the needs of the customer.
- Assess customers for special problems/needs, etc.
- Meet productivity by assuring appropriate standards.
- Documents and assures quality of Massage Therapy/Holistic Services.
- Assist in development and implementation of protocol for Massage Therapy/Holistic Services.
- Identify and implement improvement processes utilizing Accelerated Improvement Process (AIP) and/or Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA).
- Demonstrates competence and knowledge in the assessment, treatment, and care of adults, particularly older adults and geriatric adults.
- Supports and encourages others to support the Vision, Mission, and Service Statement of EJGH.
- Honors reasonable requests to perform other duties as assigned or requested.
