About The Position

The Massage Therapist administers professional massages and body treatments to guests of the Crystal Spa using thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities. This role requires maintaining licenses and certifications, upholding sanitation standards, and promoting spa services and products.

Requirements

  • Must maintain all current licenses and certifications required on a state and local level.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record.
  • Must be a current, and in good standing LMT in the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Administer professional massages and body treatments to guests.
  • Provide individualized bodywork treatments that meet client needs and expectations.
  • Obtain basic medical history of each client, assess problems/conditions, and suggest appropriate therapy.
  • Ensure clients feel welcome.
  • Uphold standards of sanitation and sterilization.
  • Recommend retail products for at-home use.
  • Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness.
  • Stock and maintain treatment rooms.
  • Promote and up-sell products and services.
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of product line and treatments.
  • Perform all treatments on services menu based on current certifications.
  • Suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
  • Understand product ingredients and explain their benefits.
  • Answer guest questions knowledgeably and professionally.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
  • Inform Supervisor of product needs.
  • Create and maintain client cards with treatment notes.
  • Complete all assigned side work.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and professional trainings.
  • Clean and disinfect all equipment daily.
  • Assist staff with lifting and storing equipment, furniture, and products.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
