About The Position

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist will provide essential mental health services and support to individuals. Apply social work methods and theory to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of psychosocial impairment or disability, including mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Provides direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention and education in an outpatient clinic setting. Participates as a member of an integrated primary healthcare delivery team to provide coordinated care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain and NPI, prior to employment start date.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist actively working toward full licensure under approved supervision.
  • Candidate must be in good standing with the Washington licensing board and meet all requirements to provide therapy services in accordance with state regulations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of recent relevant hospital or clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs focused and timely behavioral health assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for patients, including referrals from other providers.
  • Collects data from a variety of sources such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
  • Documents patient assessment and progress appropriately.
  • Provide traditional counseling services and support to patients and family members.
  • Works as a member of the integrated primary care team.
  • Contributes to team-based care through effective partnership with patients, their caregivers, and other providers to ensure holistic healthcare and support of the medical team.
  • Meets face to face with patients to diagnose and treat cognitive, behavioral, or similar disorders in the clinical setting.
  • Maintain a regular schedule at assigned clinic(s) in collaboration with treatment team.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about local and regional resources for mental health and substance abuse treatment, developing collaborative relationships where possible.
  • Provide training to staff as needed.
  • Complete and maintain confidential files and records.
  • Thoroughly, accurately, and promptly document all service rendered in the electronic medical record for every patient.
  • Maintains professional skills and awareness of regulatory changes, compliance issues, innovations and developments, through research and training/continuing education opportunities.
  • Stays abreast of trends and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects as assigned.
  • Participate in 80% of staff meetings and training as assigned.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
