About The Position

Lake Area Discovery Center (LADC) is seeking a Licensed Lead PreKindergarten Teacher to lead a classroom of 4- and 5-year-olds at the Community of Grace Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake. This role involves inspiring young learners through hands-on, play-based learning, working with a supportive team, and receiving paid daily prep time. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop monthly curriculum, share resources, participate in continuing education, and grow leadership skills. LADC has been providing exceptional early childhood education since 1999, partnering with churches and schools throughout the Twin Cities, and is recognized for its commitment to educational excellence and faith-based learning. The center is NAEYC Nationally Accredited and a 4-Star Parent Aware program, focusing on academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related education field.
Current Minnesota Teaching License (Birth–Grade 3, PreK–Grade 3, Elementary, or equivalent), or actively working toward Minnesota licensure.
Experience teaching preschool or PreKindergarten-aged children (ages 4-5).
Strong classroom management skills.
Strong curriculum planning skills.
Ability to lead a classroom.
Excellent communication skills with children, families, and coworkers.
Excellent relationship-building skills with children, families, and coworkers.
Commitment to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Ability to meet Minnesota DHS licensing requirements.
Ability to successfully complete a background study.

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree in Education or related field.
Experience in a licensed preschool, childcare center, or school setting.
Knowledge of Creative Curriculum.

Knowledge of authentic child assessment.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
