Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of ten years of surveying experience.
  • Ability to and interest in managing projects.
  • Working knowledge of modern survey techniques.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Fort Myers, FL before starting work.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree in the area of work specialization is desirable.
  • Registration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) in Florida, or ability to attain within 1 year, is preferred.
  • Candidates who are currently registered as a Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate project activities to ensure successful completion of assigned projects within established guidelines and policies.
  • Direct others in the preparation of professional, economical, and effective project products.
  • Collaborate with personnel from other departments to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
  • Manage project teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manage contract budgets, estimate completion costs, and update as conditions change.
  • Communicate scope of work changes to clients, including project schedule and budget impacts, and obtain client approval before proceeding with out-of-scope work.
  • Prepare project proposals, including scope of work, timeline, and estimated manpower.
  • Serve as a mentor and Supervisor (as assigned) for junior and mid-level staff.
