About The Position

Our client, a well-established engineering and surveying firm on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is seeking an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor to join its team. This position is ideal for a surveying professional who has strong technical experience, understands Maryland surveying requirements, and is comfortable managing field staff and coordinating multiple projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, surveying, and project teams on a variety of land development, construction, and surveying projects.

Requirements

  • Professional Land Surveyor license required, or ability to obtain Maryland licensure through reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of relevant land surveying experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing or coordinating survey field staff.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, regulations, techniques, and procedures.
  • Experience performing Boundary and Topographic Surveys, Subdivision Plats, and Construction Stakeouts.
  • Working knowledge of GPS equipment and robotic total stations.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, field crews, clients, and other project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
  • Prepare and review subdivision plats, boundary surveys, and other survey-related documents.
  • Coordinate and manage field survey crews and daily field assignments.
  • Review field data and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform construction stakeouts for a variety of projects.
  • Work with GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and other modern surveying technology.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related technical software to support survey projects.
  • Research deeds, plats, property records, easements, and other documentation.
  • Ensure surveying work complies with applicable regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and field personnel.
  • Assist with scheduling, project planning, and maintaining project deadlines.
  • Train and mentor surveying personnel as needed.
