About The Position

The Licensed Journeyman Millwright is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing and facilities' equipment, tools, and machinery. This role requires performing work in compliance with applicable state and federal codes. The position involves maintaining equipment in proper, efficient, and safe working order, including troubleshooting and repairing various systems such as vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasive, and pressure cleaning systems. The role also includes performing plumbing, machining, welding, and fabrication. Planning and implementing projects from design to maintenance, and providing technical assistance to Engineering are key aspects. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to plant and department safety rules, safe operation of equipment, identification and correction of safety problems, and response to Hazardous Materials spills. The position may involve hazardous waste training and handling. Additionally, the role includes completing logs and records, and providing work direction and training as assigned. Marginal accountabilities include performing other tasks as directed and potentially participating in a Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team.

Requirements

  • Advanced plumbing, machining, welding, fabrication, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills as demonstrated by competent performance of four years Journeymen Maintenance responsibilities at PCC or a comparable facility.
  • Ability to repair all vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasion, and pressure systems at PCC or a comparable facility.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, work orders, and other technical specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Millwright training or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
  • Ability to assist other departments through planning and technical assistance processes (LSBO and TBO only).
  • Ability to provide working supervision, work direction, and/or training as directed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Hazardous Materials Handling Training required (TBO only).
  • PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manufacturing and facilities' equipment, tools, and machinery in proper, efficient, and safe working order.
  • Troubleshoot, modify, repair, and install manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment for various systems (vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasive, pressure cleaning).
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities' operations and physical systems.
  • Perform plumbing, machining, welding, and fabrication for machinery, tools, and equipment components.
  • Plan and implement projects from design and layout through maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance to Engineering in equipment and facilities design and selection.
  • Develop sketches or drawings on proposed modifications.
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operate all equipment and tools.
  • Identify and report safety problems; correct when possible.
  • Recognize and respond to Hazardous Materials spills.
  • Complete annual hazardous waste training, handle hazardous waste, complete weekly inspections, or manage areas that generate or handle hazardous waste (as applicable).
  • Complete logs and records.
  • Provide work direction and training as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
  • Participate in Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team (as applicable).
