About The Position

Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH) is seeking a Licensed Inpatient Therapist to provide quality psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of adults and/or adolescents. This role is integral to the mental health system of care in Northern California, serving individuals with mental health and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. The therapist will act as a lead facilitator of the patient's treatment plan within an interdisciplinary team, ensuring quality treatment and supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy. The position also requires awareness and training regarding occupational health hazards.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or closely related field.
  • Two years of behavioral health experience.
  • Experience working with Severely Mentally Ill and Group Facilitation preferred.
  • Current Associate registration for LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC license in good standing with the California BBS, or PsyD in good standing with BOP.
  • Current active registration as a Clinical Supervisor or eligibility to complete requirements for CA BBS/BOP Clinical Supervisor within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, or obtained within initial orientation period.
  • Knowledge of and training in a verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Completes initial psychosocial assessment and clinical documentation within 72 hours of patient's admission.
  • Ensures compliance with all treatment plan requirements, including weekly reviews and updates with the patient.
  • Documents treatment, interventions, face-to-face contact, and collateral information in the medical record.
  • Facilitates psychoeducation and process groups, completing individualized group notes promptly.
  • Completes all legally mandated reports for Tarasoff and suspected abuse, informing Social Services Leadership.
  • Conducts family sessions for adolescents and adult patients.
  • Completes Release of Information accurately and completely.
  • Attends all scheduled Social Services/Clinical meetings prepared and on time.
  • Provides training and support to new onboarding therapists and Associate Therapists.
  • Communicates regularly with Social Services leadership regarding questions, challenges, clinical training needs, and professional development.
  • Complies with HIPAA and LPS guidelines.
  • Maintains effective working and professional relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Carries out job responsibilities while maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
  • Performs related duties as requested.
  • Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
