About The Position

This role provides outpatient counseling and evidence-based mental health interventions. Responsibilities include documenting services in the EHR for billing, completing comprehensive social histories to develop clinical assessments and treatment plans, and collaborating with psychiatrists. The social worker will also serve as a resource to staff, providing guidance on social services and mental health issues, and participating in educational activities and meetings to enhance knowledge of resources and community networking.

Requirements

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker
  • Must possess a current, valid Iowa license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker.
  • Must maintain current licensure and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
