About The Position

This position will start by focusing on DSNIP (Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan) and then switch over to Individual Plans during open enrollment season. DSNIP is a Medicare Advantage plan for individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. Sentara Health offers Sentara Community Complete (HMO D-SNP), designed for dual-eligible individuals. The role involves educating beneficiaries about healthcare options, selling DSNP and Individual Plans telephonically, adhering to CMS Sales and Marketing regulations, and maintaining necessary training and licensure. The agent will evaluate prospective members for eligibility for Individual or DSNP plans, provide quotes, educate on plan inclusions, complete enrollments, and inform ineligible callers on who to contact. The role also includes transferring calls to the correct departments and handling outbound calls for projects such as care coordinator referrals, CSNP retention efforts, and assisting dependents aging off parent plans. The expectation is a minimum conversion rate of 6% and approximately 10 enrollments per week.

Requirements

  • Must have Virginia insurance license, have or be eligible for AHIP certification, Medicare and/or Contact Center experience.
  • Licensed Health Insurance

  • Need to be licensed in the state of Virginia (will take out-of-state if open to getting licensed).
  • Need to get certified for Marketplace plans through CMS.
  • Must have health insurance sales experience.
  • Computer skills - use Oracle, Microsoft Office especially MS Teams.
  • Understanding of Medicare / DSNIP and Individual plan.
  • Positive, upbeat personality.
  • Quick learner but trainable and takes feedback well.

Responsibilities

  • Educating beneficiaries about products and healthcare options.
  • Helping beneficiaries make informed decisions on appropriate health plans.
  • Selling Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) to eligible beneficiaries telephonically.
  • Strictly adhering to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Sales and Marketing regulations and Sentara Health Plan policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining yearly appropriate training and licensure renewal.
  • Evaluating prospective members for eligibility for Individual or DSNP plans based on provided information.
  • Providing insurance coverage quotes.
  • Educating prospective members on plan inclusions and offerings.
  • Completing the enrollment process for interested callers.
  • Informing callers who are not eligible about who they can contact for more information.
  • Transferring calls from those who call into the wrong department.
  • Making outbound calls to families whose dependents are aging off of plans and offering individual quotes.
  • Handling inbound calls from potential members looking to enroll for coverage.
  • Focusing on DSNP for a majority of the time until AEP (October 1), then shifting focus to Individual Plans.
  • Handling outbound projects when inbound calls are not coming in, such as calling on care coordinator referrals for DSNP alignment, CSNP retention efforts, and assisting individuals aging off parent plans.
