About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Electrician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. The role involves reading blueprints, inspecting electrical components, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. The electrician will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment and may be required to train other personnel and work split shifts on occasion.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
  • Knowledge of all types of Electrician tools needed to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Ability to sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Wisconsin State Electrical license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.
  • Stand or walk 100% of the shift.
  • Frequent bending and lifting 30-40 lbs. frequently, unassisted.
  • Occasional lifting of 70 lbs., assisted or unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, schematic/wiring drawings.
  • Install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects, and lighting systems.
  • Inspect electrical components such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels, and circuit boards.
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing equipment.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department.
  • Train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Work in the Foundry and work some split shifts on occasions.
  • Sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
