About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Electrician responsible for a variety of electrical tasks within the department. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, components, and machinery. The electrician will also be responsible for inspecting electrical work, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Training and signing off on the work of other maintenance personnel are also key aspects of this role. The position may require working in specific environments like the Foundry and accommodating occasional split shifts.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematic/wiring drawings.
  • Ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
  • Ability to install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects and lighting systems.
  • Ability to inspect electrical components, such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels and circuit boards.
  • Ability to identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment.
  • Ability to repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Must follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
  • Knowledge of all types of Electrician tools needed to perform their assigned tasks.
  • Ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Ability to sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a Wisconsin State Electrical license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Blueprints and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department.
  • Utilize knowledge of all types of electrician tools to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ensure all work is subject to final inspection.
  • Train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Work in the Foundry and work some split shifts on occasions if needed.
  • Sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
