About The Position

Coon Rapids Modern Dentistry is seeking a Licensed Dental Assistant (described in the posting as a Registered Dental Assistant) to perform patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The role assists the dentist in helping patients commit to the best possible treatment and supports an efficient, quality patient experience. The assistant prepares patients for treatment, uses chair-side skills, and helps patients understand treatment through x-rays, intra-oral pictures, and responses to questions after the examination. The role also includes maintaining a clean and sterile environment, providing patient education as directed, and complying with applicable safety, infection-control, and professional regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and training courses mandated by the state for certification, licensure, or registration.
Certifications, licenses, or registrations mandated by the applicable state, such as coronal polishing, radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling for orthodontic procedures, or pit and fissure sealant application.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist as necessary to help patients commit to the best possible treatment with urgency.
Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual needs and concerns.
Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors in providing efficient, quality dental treatment.
Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures at the direction of the dentist.
Instruct patients on postoperative care and general oral health at the direction of the dentist.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with American Dental Association guidelines.
Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, and other regulations and policies, including OSHA, workers’ compensation, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, and DOL requirements.
