About The Position

NFI North Intermission Program is seeking a Licensed Clinician for our transitional PNMI housing program located in Lewiston, ME for young adults ages 18-25 who are in need of mental health services. This transitional housing option is designed to provide residential housing as well as the support necessary to ensure successful independent living for young adults who are participants of mental health services. While in the program, clients are provided with medication support, vocational support around school or work, case management services to access other needed services, and clinical support. Intermission is staffed 24/7 and support is provided to clients around meal preparation, daily living skills, and other individualized, client-driven goals. This position has a caseload of 7 clients and allows time to be part of the daily routine at Intermission, getting to know both direct care staff and clients. This position will conduct intakes/assessments, update 90-day treatment plans, provide weekly individual counseling, support/co-facilitate groups, provide clinical guidance and training to direct care staff, collaborate with outside providers/family members, and ensure quality and compliance with funding source regulations. Daily typical work may also include things like engaging in new hobbies with clients, volunteering with clients in the community, and going on outings with clients, helping clients practice new skills, preparing and eating meals with clients. We strive to have a collaborative environment in which staff model wellness alongside the clients. An ideal candidate would be someone with high energy, creativity, willingness to take initiative, flexibility, and strong communication skills. Computer proficiency is required for navigating electronic health records. This candidate also supervises and works alongside the program’s clinical case manager.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social work or Human Services
  • Minimum of three years related experience working with individuals living with mental illness
  • At least two years of providing clinical experience
  • Minimum of a conditional license required
  • Computer proficiency for navigating electronic health records

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC) preferred
  • Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation a plus
