About The Position

The Licensed Clinical Therapist provides trauma-informed clinical services to children and adolescents served through EverHope’s Emergency Shelter and Foster Care programs. This role is responsible for delivering individual, family, and crisis-based therapy to youth experiencing abuse, neglect, placement instability, and complex trauma. The therapist will support children both in residential shelter care and in foster home placements, working collaboratively with caregivers, foster parents, case managers, and external partners to ensure continuity of care, emotional stability, and progress toward permanency.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Current and active Arkansas clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents impacted by trauma.
  • Experience providing individual therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
  • Experience working in child welfare, foster care, residential treatment, or similar settings.
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma, attachment disruption, and complex behavioral needs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based clinical interventions.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention and remain calm in high-stress situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate care.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer systems (Google Workspace or similar).
  • Commitment to supporting family preservation, permanency, and healing-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices (TF-CBT, EMDR, play therapy, etc.).
  • Experience collaborating with DCFS or other child welfare systems.
  • Experience providing caregiver support, family therapy, or foster parent consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents residing in the emergency shelter and placed in foster homes.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing progress monitoring.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services for youth experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans aligned with client needs, placement goals, and permanency planning.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff, foster parents, case managers, DCFS partners, and other service providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Provide clinical consultation, coaching, training and behavioral support strategies to foster parents and direct care staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, placement stabilization meetings, and case planning discussions.
  • Support smooth transitions for youth between shelter care, foster care placements, and permanency settings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational policies and state licensing standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Arkansas licensing regulations, ethical standards, and child welfare requirements.
  • Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and trauma-informed care advancement efforts.
  • Ability to provide family therapy or/and therapy for provisional homes as requested
  • Other duties as assigned.
