About The Position

Incumbent serves as Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Support Solutions of Tennessee; provides psychiatric social work assistance to mentally and emotionally disturbed persons and their families. Collaborates with psychiatric and medical treatment team in diagnosis and treatment planning for persons supported. The knowledge base of clinical social work includes theories of biological, psychological, and social development; diversity and cultural competency; interpersonal relationships; family and group dynamics; mental disorders; addictions; impacts of illness, trauma, or injury; and the effects of the physical, social, and cultural environment. This knowledge is inculcated in social work graduate school and is fused with direct-practice skills that are developed by the practitioner during a period of at least two years of post-graduate experience under clinical supervision. This period should suffice to prepare the clinical social worker for autonomous practice and state-licensure as a clinical social work professional.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Social Work.
  • Must be licensed by a state board to provide Social Work based mental health therapy.
  • Valid LCSW license
  • Valid Driver License
  • Valid automobile insurance if using personal vehicle for company business (this must be maintained throughout employment.)

Responsibilities

  • Investigates case situations and presents information to Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist and other members of health team, on patients family and social background pertinent to diagnosis and treatment.
  • Helps patients to respond constructively to treatment and assist in adjustment leading to and following discharge.
  • Interprets psychiatric treatment to patients family and helps to reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of psychiatric care and continuation of treatment.
  • Serves as link between patient, psychiatric agency, and community
  • Works directly in treatment relationship with patients, individually or in groups, in consultation with Psychiatrist.
  • Uses researched based strengths based social work approach to treating clients.
  • Can assess and make clinical evaluations of clients mental health and diagnose mental illness.
  • Make judgments on the best course of treatments based upon current clinical research in the social work field.
  • Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of SSTN.
  • Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Attends all safety training as scheduled.
  • Work as part of the team to ensure that SSTN Quality Management principles (Plan, Measure, Assess. Improve.) are practiced and achieved.
  • Operates SSTN and personal transportation in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Performs other job related duties as may be assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.
