About The Position

Provides specific psychological services, including evaluation and assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, health and behavior intervention, and other psychological services to a variety of neurological populations. The primary focus is the evidenced based HABIT Healthy Action to Benefit Independence and Thinking Program ® for patients living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (typically early neurodegenerative disease) and a loved-one partner. In addition, this position will involve psychotherapy with adults with a range of neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain tumor, or functional neurologic disorder. Strong clinical experience and proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and interventions are required for this position. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary HABIT team which includes a Neuropsychologist Director, HABIT coordinator, other Master’s level providers, and yoga therapist as well as the broader Neuropsychology division in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship and we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT Stem.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker required
  • Strong clinical experience and proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and interventions
  • Strong communication skills are needed to interact with patients, family members, and caregivers.
  • Strong collaboration skills and teamwork are needed as an important member of this multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with patients with neurodegenerative diseases and other neurologic disorders preferred.
