About The Position

As a key member of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide high-quality, client-centered care to individuals participating in outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services. The LCSW will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapy to clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders (COD). The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with a strong clinical foundation in both mental health and addiction treatment. This role emphasizes outpatient-level care, including assessment, stabilization, treatment planning, and coordinated discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
  • Active and unrestricted LCSW licensure in Tennessee and/or Virginia
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Strong knowledge of co-occurring disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Familiarity with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and trauma-informed care principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in facilitating group therapy in an intensive outpatient (IOP) or similar setting
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and clinical documentation best practices
  • Understanding of state-specific regulatory guidelines (Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services)
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in a fast-paced, client-centered environment
  • Confidence in handling crisis intervention and de-escalation

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to determine clients’ mental health, substance use history, and treatment needs
  • Diagnose mental health and substance use disorders using DSM-5 criteria
  • Deliver individual, group, and, when needed, family psychotherapy in accordance with individualized treatment plans
  • Facilitate structured group therapy sessions, including psychoeducation and skill-building groups (IOP and general outpatient levels of care)
  • Monitor and document client progress toward treatment goals in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate closely with medical providers, case managers, peer support specialists, and other team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care
  • Assist clients in developing and maintaining recovery plans, including relapse prevention and discharge planning
  • Participate in ongoing training and implement treatment strategies that align with current best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a liaison to external agencies, including community providers and legal entities, to ensure continuity of care and legal compliance
  • Maintain compliance with all state regulations, CPT billing requirements, NASW Code of Ethics, and HIPAA guidelines
