About The Position

This full-time position involves providing individual, family, and/or group therapy in an outpatient setting. The role also includes conducting substance abuse evaluations for patients seeking residential or outpatient substance abuse treatment. A key aspect of the position is serving as a mental health educator for healthcare professionals and communities within the hospital service area. Essential duties include conducting intake biopsychosocial assessments, creating treatment plans, referring clients to internal and external resources, consulting with the Behavioral Health Team on complex cases, and providing crisis intervention services to current patients and those presenting in the Emergency Department with acute mental health or substance abuse issues. The social worker is also responsible for maintaining required patient records with appropriate documentation, establishing and maintaining working relationships with various agencies/service providers (e.g., probation officers, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services) to coordinate services, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • Two (2) years of progressive work experience
  • Must be independently licensed as an LCSW in the State of Arizona
  • Must possess a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid Arizona DPS Class 1 Federal Clearance Card
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Employee Health Program requirements and background investigation
  • Knowledge of applicable tribal, federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, including The Joint Commission Accreditation
  • Knowledge and skill in psychotherapies, particularly, models of intervention with individuals, families and groups
  • Knowledge of human growth and development, behavior patterns, marital and family interaction, parent/child relationship and dynamics of family systems
  • Knowledge of psychological assessment tools used for children, adults, and families
  • Knowledge of case management, including skill in documentation using appropriate method of charting in accordance with required standards
  • Knowledge of and ability to diagnose mental disorders as defined in most current DSM
  • Ability to identify appropriate treatment based on most current DSM diagnosis
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficiency in operating business computers and office machines including Windows software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak the Navajo language and/or a familiarity with the Navajo Way

Responsibilities
