About The Position

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide direction and oversight to a multidisciplinary team in the implementation and management of an integrated mental health treatment program within the ICE facility at Eloy, AZ (Eloy Detention Center). This role involves delivering direct patient care, developing and monitoring treatment plans, responding to medical emergencies, and providing telehealth services. The LCSW will assess and evaluate the mental health of residents, collaborate with legal counsel on mental health evaluations, and provide various therapeutic services including counseling, psychotherapy, and substance abuse education. The position also includes conducting post-discharge follow-up, serving as the suicide prevention program coordinator, developing training materials, and coordinating case management. Oversight and consultation to behavioral health technicians and interns are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Minimum of one-year experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the independent level, where clinical supervision is not required.
  • A current, permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in Arizona.
  • Maintains BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the client.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight to a multidisciplinary team in the implementation and management of an integrated mental health treatment program.
  • Deliver direct care to patients in accordance with the scope of practice, licensure, certification, and granted privileges.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor patient treatment plans in collaboration with behavioral health technicians.
  • Respond to and coordinate responses to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Provide telehealth services based on patient needs and healthcare situations.
  • Assess and evaluate the mental health of residents according to DSM-5 diagnoses and refer to outside treatment facilities if necessary.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to provide written evaluations on the mental health status of individuals placed on the Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) list.
  • Provide counseling, psychotherapy, group therapy, behavioral analysis, and substance abuse education as required by standards.
  • Treat individuals presenting with signs of sexual or physical assault, abuse, and/or neglect using a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Conduct post-discharge follow-up for individuals returning from inpatient mental health treatment.
  • Serve as the suicide prevention program coordinator as assigned.
  • Develop training and educational materials and provide clinical education to medical and administrative staff.
  • Coordinate case management for community treatment placement, hospital placement, and other aftercare situations.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required.
  • Provide oversight and consultation to behavioral health technicians and interns as applicable.
