About The Position

This position at Ivinson Memorial Hospital focuses on providing support and education to oncology patients and their families. Requirements

Master’s degree of Social Work required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a social worker providing mental health services to patients and families in a hospital or other healthcare facility preferred.
Must have a valid, current license to practice Social Work in the State of Wyoming and must be in good standing with the Mental Health Professions Licensing Board.
Must have a current, valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Wyoming and must be in good standing with the Mental Health Professions Licensing Board.
Must have a valid, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain with 60 days of hire and maintain credentialing throughout employment at IMH.
Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate effective listening skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.

Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
Ability to learn new computer software programs.
Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

Assists in patient education as applicable including information to help patients understand diagnosis and treatment.
Supports families and patient in their understanding upcoming and ongoing procedures.
Coordinates transfer or referral arrangements.
Offers assistance in access to drug replacements and state and community programs that offer financial assistance for those without insurance.
Offers individual counseling, support groups and referrals to community counseling.
Other duties as assigned.
