Position Overview The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) / Medical Social Worker (MSW) provides behavioral health assessment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and counseling services for individuals and groups within a healthcare setting supporting U.S. government-affiliated operations in Iraq. This position plays an important role in promoting emotional wellness, supporting acute mental health needs, and contributing to coordinated patient care. Working closely with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, the LCSW/MSW delivers evidence-based therapeutic interventions while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting continuity of care. Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited program required
  • Current, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license required
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical social work experience, including at least 6 months within the past year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience providing psychotherapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support in clinical settings
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to meet credentialing, background screening, medical clearance, and compliance requirements
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (MRPT)
  • Valid U.S. passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining before expiration required
  • Ability to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the assignment and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements, including prolonged sitting and standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, clinical interviews, and mental health evaluations to support diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy tailored to patient needs and emotional wellness goals
  • Respond to acute behavioral health crises with timely intervention, stabilization support, and care coordination
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement integrated treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and available support resources
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, treatment documentation, and progress notes in accordance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in community outreach and mental health awareness initiatives as appropriate
  • Complete required compliance training, credentialing activities, and organizational education requirements
