About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with 18 locations across 7 states, known for its evidence-based clinical curriculum and highly individualized care. The company offers programs spanning detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. Avenues is currently hiring addictions counselors for its inpatient detox and residential facility in Cambridge, MD. In this role, the counselor will be responsible for creating individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for clients, conducting various therapy sessions (individual, group, family, and couple), and managing all clinical needs, services, and aftercare for their client caseload. They will also prevent, intervene, and de-escalate crises, maintain meticulous documentation of client progress and challenges, and collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and family to ensure seamless coordination of care. The position requires modeling ethics, morality, and recovery principles such as honesty, accountability, dignity, and respect in all professional interactions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field
Valid Maryland state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role (ADT, LGPC, LCPC, LCSW, CSC-AD, CAC-AD)
CPR certification is required
Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality

Responsibilities
