About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Blaster to conduct daily blasting operations at Boone Quarry, an underground mine in Verona, Kentucky. The role is responsible for the daily loading, transportation, storage, and security of materials and activities involved in the underground mine blasting process. The Blaster maintains daily and monthly reports for explosive materials and assists mine management with drilling and shot layout, including shot timing and fragmentation analysis. Candidates must have blasting experience, with underground mining experience especially relevant.

Requirements

• Hold a current blaster's license.
• Have at least two years of blasting experience in a quarry or mining environment.
• Meet state and federal requirements to qualify as an ATF explosive possessor, including passing a background check.
• Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety and demonstrate the ability to safely perform all essential job functions.
• Be physically able to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly squat, bend, and twist.
• Be able to work as an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environment.
• Have a proven record with full-cycle mining, including drilling, blasting, haulage, and ground support.
• Successfully pass the employer's pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of underground mining experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily blasting operations at Boone Quarry, an underground mine.
• Handle the daily loading, transportation, storage, and security of all aspects of the underground mine blasting process.
• Keep and maintain daily and monthly blasting reports for explosive materials.
• Assist mine management with the drilling and shot layout process, including shot timing and fragmentation analysis.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Assist with loading and connecting explosives safely.
