Statement of Purpose: Behavioral Health Therapist (Bilingual Spanish Preferred) The Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing mental health or emotional challenges. They work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans, offer support, and empower them to achieve better mental and emotional well-being. This position works closely with the BH Specialty Programs Manager under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and Specialty Programs. Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • High comfort working in a diverse and team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and practices MidlandCAN, LLC’s mission and values and follows its policies and procedures.
  • Ensures confidentiality is maintained by entire team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and emotional well-being.
  • Use diagnostic tools and criteria to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
  • Collaborate with clients to set realistic and achievable therapeutic objectives.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychotherapy, or other modalities.
  • Help clients develop coping skills and strategies to manage their mental health challenges.
  • Address and manage crisis situations, providing immediate support to clients in distress.
  • Collaborate with emergency services or crisis teams as needed.
  • Work to destigmatize mental health issues and promote mental health awareness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Consult with colleagues to discuss complex cases and seek input for treatment planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessment reports.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in documentation.
  • Conduct educational sessions and workshops to promote mental health awareness and prevention.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about new therapeutic techniques and research.
  • Practice self-care to prevent burnout and maintain personal well-being.
  • Performs all other assigned tasks.
