About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, within the Behavioral Health department. The position is full-time, working day shifts. The counselor will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, establishing therapy treatment goals, administering individual and group therapy, maintaining confidential records, providing information on community resources and therapeutic activities, and collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and community providers throughout the treatment process.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
  • Supervisor credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.
  • Administer individual and group therapy.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.
  • Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
  • Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.
