About The Position

This is a Full Time Athletic Trainer position that will be part-time in the clinic and part-time doing High School Outreach coverage. Clinic hours will be treating patients with workforce health and the High School outreach will be at a local High School covering mainly in Spring and Fall. This role involves treating patients with workforce health in a clinic setting and providing coverage at a local high school, primarily during the Spring and Fall seasons.

Requirements

  • Current Athletic Training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
  • Currently licensed or eligible for Athletic Trainer license issued by the state in which the teammate practices within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to complete American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS), which includes CPR and AED training within 30 days of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program.
  • No experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include communicating with physicians, staff, community partners, and other patients/customers related to sports medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a multidisciplinary team in order to effectively treat and understand the needs of the sports medicine patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently make sound decisions regarding problems or operational issues.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of injuries and refer patients to the appropriate healthcare services.
  • Provide clear communication to patients regarding self-care, prevention, and treatment techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Establish and execute treatment plans based on patient evaluations and health goals.
  • Continuously monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Direct athletes in performance enhancement programs for fitness or injury prevention.
  • Identify and attend to factors affecting the patient’s physical and emotional comfort, ensuring sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Plan and facilitate patient discharge by providing at-home care instructions, family education, community referrals, and necessary equipment orders.
  • Complete all required documentation according to department policies, including patient assessments, progress notes, and billing records, while ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines.
  • Identify and support opportunities for community outreach to increase awareness of services and health education, fostering partnerships and potential referrals.
  • Ensure the treatment area is clean and organized, maintain equipment, and adhere to safety standards.
