About The Position

The Licensed Architect will be responsible for developing and presenting schematic design solutions for new construction and renovation projects, creating electronic and manual graphics to explore design options, and integrating various considerations such as zoning, code, ADA, structural, and MEP into designs. Key duties include preparing comprehensive construction documentation packages for bidding and permitting, organizing documentation to clearly communicate design intent, and selecting appropriate materials and systems. The role also involves conducting site visits to monitor construction progress, responding to RFIs, and collaborating with internal departments and external consultants. Additionally, the architect will support site acquisition with predesign services, coordinate LEED or sustainability design requirements when applicable, and stay current with architectural standards and emerging practices. This is a full-time, in-person position based in the office, with occasional travel and project site visits required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Architecture
  • 5 or more years of experience in design, documentation, and project delivery
  • Certification as a licensed professional is required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of IBC and local Building Safety requirements
  • Experience with a variety of project types (office, retail, residential, warehouse) and phases (new construction, renovation, master planning)
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to project sites
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Illinois and/or Indiana professional license preferred
  • Familiarity with SketchUp
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite
  • Familiarity with Excel
  • Familiarity with LEED

Responsibilities
