Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or educational program required.
• Counselors must meet training, experience, and continuing education requirements necessary for the patient population for which services are provided.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with current licensure with Minnesota Board of Social Work with additional alcohol and drug related state requirements.
• Current driver’s license.
• Must be able to complete and pass BLS and First aid training within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Alcohol and Drug Studies or related field; or Master’s degree in counseling-related field.
• Counselors providing adolescent services and family counselors must meet training requirements or training will be provided.
• Treatment philosophy consistent with Fountain Centers philosophy preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and 12 Step recovery philosophies.
• 1 to 3 years experience providing counseling services to patients preferred.
• Positions that are not on campus may not require Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid Training competencies as determined by the work area.
